Panther spirit | Enjoy the silence.

Panther medicine is the medicine of silence. Panther can stalk its prey in absolute silence—one of the reasons native tribes associate him with the spirit world—particularly the night. Panther can show you how to face the Shadow within and bring it out into the Light. Panther is powerful medicine—and the fact that its energy is present for the day says much about your willingness to face the unknown.

Panthers are graceful, dangerous, stealthy, intelligent, and powerful animals. They tend to be loners – hunting and living alone, mainly in the shadows. However, they have a sense of elegance and royal power, stability, and beauty. They are associated with dark femininity – in other words – tapping into your inner strength. Since it prefers to move in the shadows  – it is also a reminder to do your shadow work. That means that you will have to look at the darkest parts of yourself and heal and accept them. Panther energy is a powerful guide. It will bring emotional intelligence, stability, and power to you. It will enhance your social intelligence as well. If you have problems with oversharing – it will teach you how to be more calm and more collected. Because of its mysterious and mesmerizing aura – it will help you to be more alluring and charismatic.

If you relate to the Panther – you are most likely artistic, intelligent, graceful, secretive, powerful, and in touch with your feminine side. The combination of these qualities can make you a well-calculated individual. You know how to behave in any social situation to remain in your power. Sometimes you may need to be bold and assertive – sometimes stealthy and mysterious. The balance of both of these sides is what brings you true power through intelligence. To some people, panthers are dangerous predators who hide under a beautiful facade. To understand the complete range of their personality – you need to look past this preset image. Here are some facts about them that may surprise you and help you see the whole picture of their character.

Panthers are loners – they prefer the comfort of their company. They will teach you that happiness is an entirely you-related activity. Being independent, unshakable, and in your power makes you not want to spread your valuable energy to undeserving individuals. The black panther is a leopard or jaguar with a genetic difference that gives them a black coat. If you take a closer look – you can see slight color variations – mainly spots. Therefore, the saying: “A leopard can’t change its spots.” is true, but they can hide them. Camouflaging its authentic self and presenting a chosen version is where we find some of the Black Panther’s symbolism and meanings. The panther – evolutionary speaking – has always lived on the land. It embodies the Element Earth – it is resilient, goal-oriented, stable, practical, protective, powerful, well-collected, intelligent, and mysterious. That combined with otherwordly grace and beauty makes the panther a dangerous opponent and a powerful ally. It knows its worth and protects it. Choosing a life in the shadows is what serves this animal – it prefers not to draw unnecessary attention to itself so it can complete its goals unbothered.

Panther spirit will help you find your inner strength. Its stability, protectiveness, ambition, and independent lifestyle, will inspire you to find these qualities in yourself as well. There are, however, some characteristics that stand out from the rest. The black panther is a symbol of dark femininity and shadow work. That means that it will gently nudge you into better understanding yourself and acting accordingly with your higher self. Understanding the darkest corners of our souls is crucial for growth and stability. To find physical and mental agility – you have to get honest with yourself and assess indifferently. It can be challenging to face our authentic form, but this spirit guide will help you on the way. It is a rewarding process filled with a lot of obstacles. The panther will help you be as close to being self-sufficient as possible. It is healthy to form meaningful and long-lasting relationships. Being completely self-sufficient might seem safe at the moment, but growth comes when we step out of our comfort zones. That doesn’t mean relying on other people to do the work for you. The panther is teaching you how to be independent and part of society. When you are healing and acknowledging all of your soul, and you have learned how to rely on yourself for your happiness while forming meaningful connections – you will tap into your divine power. That is the goal of the panther – to guide you on your journey of improvement and realization. Radiating beauty, grace, intelligence, stability, and power, are the effects of working on yourself. You have to be aware of your reality if you want to change it – just like the panther has a darker coat.

You’ve most likely encountered the High Priestess before, but in other forms – she can be seen in the archetypes of Persephone, Artemis, Isis and many more. When you encounter her, you will see her sitting on a cubic stone between the two pillars at Solomon’s Temple, Jachin, and Boaz. Jachin (right) is generally referred to as the Pillar of Establishment and Boaz (left) is the Pillar of Strength. The pillars also depict the duality of nature; masculine and feminine, good and evil, negative and positive.

The High Priestess’s location between the two suggests that it is her responsibility to serve as a mediator between the depths of the reality. She is the third pillar – the path between. She believes that both pillars are equal and there is knowledge to be learned in both worlds. You will also notice that she wears the crown of Isis which can mean that she is a believer of magic. The high priestess wearing of the solar cross denotes that she is connected to the season of the earth and the earth itself. The crescent moon at her feet is seen also in many depictions of the Virgin Mary, and means that she has a complete grasp over her emotion and the pomegranates refer to the ambition of the priestess.

The meaning of the High Priestess is related with inner knowledge. Her appearance in a reading can signify that it is time for you to listen to your intuition rather than prioritizing your intellect and conscious mind. When the High Priestess shows up it can depict an archetype known as the divine feminine – the mysterious female that understands and holds the answers to the deep unknowns; religion, self, nature. She represents someone that is intuitive, and beginning to open to her or his spirituality. Meditation, prayer and new spiritual work is indicated.

Her appearance in a reading can signify that it is time for you to listen to your intuition rather than prioritizing your intellect and conscious mind.

The card itself shows a night-time scene, meaning that the world in which she protects and guards is one that may at first seem frightening, but has the potential to lead us into the growth of the self. When she appears in a reading, she is calling to you to listen to her message, and follow her into your own depths. There is searching within yourself to be done for the answers that you seek. The answers to the questions you have are within, not without.

FRI DECEMBER 23rd: New Moon in Capricorn. You might have a strong need for being useful to society and you look for justification in the outside world. You may underestimate what you want from yourself and for yourself. Shyness may be accompanied by resentment of the fact that others ignore you. Do not seek approval from the outside, it will not help you get rid of your doubt and it is harmful to you. You have to trust your inner values.

THU – FRI DECEMBER 29-30th: First Quarter Moon in Aries. The feeling of uncertainty can make you solve problems faster than is natural. Do not rush as if there was a deadline. Try to slow down so that you can decide what you want to do and proceed at your own comfortable pace.

On the 20th, Jupiter enters Aries. Jupiter first entered Aries on May 10th, but after turning retrograde on July 28th, it returned to Pisces on October 28th. Now, Jupiter re-enters Aries, where it will stay until May 16th, 2023. This transit encourages us to embrace our enterprising spirit and independence.

With Jupiter in Aries, we make our own opportunities, and we thrive when we take the lead, initiate, inspire others, and demonstrate enthusiasm and courage. Prosperous areas are ones that allow us to head and lead, and to innovate. Faith in ourselves can bring about positive circumstances or good luck.

Faith in our ability to reinvent our lives and to move forward with confidence in spite of challenges we may be leaving behind is strong during this cycle. We believe that “life is what you make it,” and we enjoy competition as it pushes us to do better. Our belief in ourselves brings a spirit of the pioneer. We live in the “now” and quickly seize opportunities. However, we should watch for taking any of these things too far, a me-first attitude that can be insensitive, failing to consider others’ viewpoints and leaving opportunities behind as a result, over-confidence, not learning from past mistakes, and a lack of objectivity.

Chiron turns direct on December 23rd after retrograde motion since July 19th. Emotional truths about matters we’ve been avoiding or confused about begin to emerge now and in the coming weeks. While not always comfortable revelations, they can serve to motivate us to take appropriate action.

Also on December 23rd, the New Moon occurs in the sign of Capricorn, stirring a new beginning. We recognize that having some boundaries and rules in place frees us up to enjoy ourselves as we meet our responsibilities. This lunation offers us the opportunity to set practical, attainable goals and work on developing maturity, self-discipline, and common sense. We’re prompted to consider and prepare for the future.

Jupiter forms a semi-square Uranus on December 23rd. This is the final of three transits, with the other two perfections on May 11th and September 28th. This transit is a minor but longer-term aspect. We can feel a little restless, wanting to grow, improve, and innovate, but we’re not necessarily focused. We could find it difficult to agree with others, or it’s hard to find common ground. We need to be willing to make changes in our lives now, or change will come in perhaps unwanted forms. This is a rebellious, restless influence, and we should avoid random moves. It’s best to tap into areas that may need some attention and improvement. We might open ourselves up to new ways of thinking, but we could also too easily avoid taking responsibility for things that truly matter. While watching for impractical ventures and unusual tangents with weak staying power, we should connect with our desire to innovate.

On December 29th, Mercury turns retrograde in the sign of Capricorn, and it will continue its retrograde journey until January 18th. Some delays or information clogs are possible. With Mercury retrograde in Capricorn for the whole cycle, we may have little tolerance for small talk and tend to express ourselves after much deliberation. Plans may be considered then reconsidered. We are in a good position to reevaluate professional or life path plans and goals. It’s also a fine time to explore what ambition or our reputation means to us.
