DAILY ANIMAL SPIRIT
Raccoon spirit |
Observe, then act decisively.

This masked bandit can make you laugh with his antics, or make you angry when you realize he’s made off with your food! Raccoon is incredibly curious—to the point that he’ll walk into a potentially dangerous situation just to see what’s up. Like Raccoon, are there situations you’re barging into before you have all the information? Might want to re-think this one.

Raccoons are adaptable, resourceful, clever, and cunning animals. These animals are the bandits of the animal kingdom – similar to how we see crows – deceitful. However, many characteristics are worthy of our respect – very few animals can make the best out of a bad situation. Raccoons have adapted to the human-dominated world like no other animal. They have kept their freedom with trickery and resourcefulness. It seems like whenever they set their mind on a task – nothing can stop them.

You are most likely goal-driven, treacherous, adaptable, resourceful, good at disguise, and easily trainable. That wouldn’t mean that you deceit people for the fun of the act – you have a set goal and will use anything at hand to achieve it. These animals are creative with their actions because the main focus is on the end goal itself – not the process. To some people, Raccoons might seem like naïve creatures that get into unnecessary troubles all the time. However, to understand their full potential and symbolism – you need to look beyond this preset image. Here are some facts about these animals that may surprise you and help you see the whole picture of their character.

Raccoons are tribe-oriented animals – they will always encourage you to put your loved ones first. They will teach you not to be selfish, to spread your good fortune, and that true happiness in life is always shared. Raccoons are surprisingly good judges and symbolize discernment. They help you assess every situation, like the masterminds they are – they can see some hidden points you might have missed. These animals are great at planning and judging situations. They will help you create the best with the resources at hand. The Raccoon – evolutionary speaking – has always lived on the land.

It embodies the Elements of Earth and Air – it is resilient, goal-oriented, stable, practical, protective, adaptable, clever, and courageous.

The connection of these two elements creates the raccoon’s mastermind personality. It can fixate on one task while adapting constantly to meet the requirements. That is why this animal is considered clever, cunning, and stealthy. The combination of these elements creates the only worthy opponent of the crow.

The Raccoon is the most perfectly adapted help you can get. These animals are too resourceful not to get the job done. They will assess the situation like no other and help you make the best out of it. This animal has chaotic energy, the type that brings in a lot of movement into your life. However, the first step of this spirit guide helping you is to set clear priorities. When you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve – this animal will step up and show you the way to achieve them.

Raccoon is here to teach you that everything you need is already here. Most of us think that to achieve our goals, a set of other events need to happen. However, this is most likely not true. It has been scientifically proven that we process a very small portion of the information our brain receives from our senses. In other words – we only acknowledge what we set our mind to. Therefore, if we consciously look for something – we will find it – the Universe is an abundant place. Raccoons are here to teach us that we can find whatever we need within very close reach. However, we should always try to work in a team and share the joy with others. Shared happiness is always more meaningful. Try to remember that we need to move forward together as a society and not only as individuals. Take the time to bring others with you.

DAILY ORACLE CARD
IX. THE HERMIT

The Hermit depicts an old man standing alone at the peak of the mountain while holding a lantern in one of his hands and a staff on the other. The mountain denotes accomplishment, development, and success. The hermit tarot card refers to the level of spiritual knowledge that he attained, and that he is ready to impart that knowledge to everyone. There is also a deep commitment he has to his goal and a solid awareness of the path that he is taking. Inside the lantern, you will notice a star with 6 points which is also known as the Seal of Solomon. This symbol represents wisdom. The staff that he holds depicts authority and power.

The Hermit is a seeker for the knowledge that comes from within. A lonely wanderer in the path of the night, he searches for that which can only be gained with long periods of solitude – the inner voice. To hear it, he must disconnect from the crowds whose voices and desires threaten to overcome his own. He walks through the dark night of his unconscious, guided only by the low light of the northern star, with his destination being his home, his self.

He walks through the dark night of his unconscious, guided only by the low light of the northern star, with his destination being his home, his self.

You are currently contemplating that you need to be alone. Never be afraid to take this chance to reflect, as it could help you clear your mind of all the clutter that comes with everyday life. The Hermit may also refer to your effort in taking action that is authentic and aligned with your true self. You are perhaps searching your inner soul for guidance on what is right, and where your next steps are to be.

The hermit’s appearance in a reading can also denote the appearance of someone who will come to your life that will be your mentor.

DECEMBER 2022 LUNAR CALENDAR

THU DECEMBER 8th: Full Moon in Gemini. Moon in Gemini manifests itself through the need for changes and spontaneity. Safety lies in thinking about your feelings and sharing them with others. You can be more talkative and speak with ease these days. You might have a better ability to keep a cool head, but beware, a cold heart can discourage others. Harmony of thinking and feeling is important.

FRI DECEMBER 16th: Last Quarter Moon in Virgo. Your feeling of safety is now related to order and clarity, even in emotions. You may have the need to organize everything chaotic and disorganized. Try being more tolerant and accepting the imperfections of life. It is better to trust life and let it run its own way, not everything must be according to our expectations.

FRI DECEMBER 23rd: New Moon in Capricorn. You might have a strong need for being useful to society and you look for justification in the outside world. You may underestimate what you want from yourself and for yourself. Shyness may be accompanied by resentment of the fact that others ignore you. Do not seek approval from the outside, it will not help you get rid of your doubt and it is harmful to you. You have to trust your inner values.

THU – FRI DECEMBER 29-30th: First Quarter Moon in Aries. The feeling of uncertainty can make you solve problems faster than is natural. Do not rush as if there was a deadline. Try to slow down so that you can decide what you want to do and proceed at your own comfortable pace.

DECEMBER 2022 ASTROLOGICAL CALENDAR

On December 7th, a Full Moon occurs in the sign of Gemini. This lunation can bring sudden awareness to our lives and a rather urgent “need to know.” We may want to get an important message across, finish a communications project, or make an announcement. Travel and communications are in strong focus. The Moon aligns with retrograde Mars around the time of this Full Moon, and it can be an especially revealing time as it’s likely to pull up unrest, resentment, and buried frustrations. We should watch for too-quick decisions and actions while paying close attention to what illuminates.

On the 20th, Jupiter enters Aries. Jupiter first entered Aries on May 10th, but after turning retrograde on July 28th, it returned to Pisces on October 28th. Now, Jupiter re-enters Aries, where it will stay until May 16th, 2023. This transit encourages us to embrace our enterprising spirit and independence.

With Jupiter in Aries, we make our own opportunities, and we thrive when we take the lead, initiate, inspire others, and demonstrate enthusiasm and courage. Prosperous areas are ones that allow us to head and lead, and to innovate. Faith in ourselves can bring about positive circumstances or good luck.

Faith in our ability to reinvent our lives and to move forward with confidence in spite of challenges we may be leaving behind is strong during this cycle. We believe that “life is what you make it,” and we enjoy competition as it pushes us to do better. Our belief in ourselves brings a spirit of the pioneer. We live in the “now” and quickly seize opportunities. However, we should watch for taking any of these things too far, a me-first attitude that can be insensitive, failing to consider others’ viewpoints and leaving opportunities behind as a result, over-confidence, not learning from past mistakes, and a lack of objectivity.

Chiron turns direct on December 23rd after retrograde motion since July 19th. Emotional truths about matters we’ve been avoiding or confused about begin to emerge now and in the coming weeks. While not always comfortable revelations, they can serve to motivate us to take appropriate action.

Also on December 23rd, the New Moon occurs in the sign of Capricorn, stirring a new beginning. We recognize that having some boundaries and rules in place frees us up to enjoy ourselves as we meet our responsibilities. This lunation offers us the opportunity to set practical, attainable goals and work on developing maturity, self-discipline, and common sense. We’re prompted to consider and prepare for the future.

Jupiter forms a semi-square Uranus on December 23rd. This is the final of three transits, with the other two perfections on May 11th and September 28th. This transit is a minor but longer-term aspect. We can feel a little restless, wanting to grow, improve, and innovate, but we’re not necessarily focused. We could find it difficult to agree with others, or it’s hard to find common ground. We need to be willing to make changes in our lives now, or change will come in perhaps unwanted forms. This is a rebellious, restless influence, and we should avoid random moves. It’s best to tap into areas that may need some attention and improvement. We might open ourselves up to new ways of thinking, but we could also too easily avoid taking responsibility for things that truly matter. While watching for impractical ventures and unusual tangents with weak staying power, we should connect with our desire to innovate.

On December 29th, Mercury turns retrograde in the sign of Capricorn, and it will continue its retrograde journey until January 18th. Some delays or information clogs are possible. With Mercury retrograde in Capricorn for the whole cycle, we may have little tolerance for small talk and tend to express ourselves after much deliberation. Plans may be considered then reconsidered. We are in a good position to reevaluate professional or life path plans and goals. It’s also a fine time to explore what ambition or our reputation means to us.
