Pluto turns retrograde in Capricorn today. During this time, we could experience transformations on a soul level in all areas of life.

Pluto might be the most controversial dwarf planet, but don’t let its size fool you. It packs a punch in astrology because it blows up situations and relationships that are no longer serving our best interests, only to transform and rebuild them stronger. When it’s retrograde, we’re forced to look at our emotions on a deep level and acknowledge our shadow self. We come face-to-face with our demons and embrace them.

It’s common to feel persecuted during a Pluto retrograde. Others could show their true colors by trying to bring you down and control your life. The retrograde allows you to see these power struggles on a whole different level and come to terms with what we already intuitively know about others. Mercury arrives in Gemini today, where it will turn retrograde in less than two weeks. We are prone to focusing exclusively on material gain or benefit and may use clever intellectual ‘tricks’ to get our way. We seem to be inclined to keep our motivations under wraps even when we encounter conflicts or obstacles. We may feel reverberations of the emotional intensity that we experienced following the last Full Moon (April 16th) and find ourselves looking for some way to stand alone or apart rather than recognizing our need for the support and cooperation of others. This evening’s Taurus Moon stirs a desire for a comfortable repose ahead of tomorrow’s Taurus Full Moon (1:27 PM PDT 10° Taurus).
