Mercury enters Aquarius tonight and turns retrograde on January 14, reenters Capricorn on January 25, goes back into Aquarius on February 14, and enters Pisces on March 9. That means we can expect to deal with this mercurial energy for a while.

The planet of communication normally loves to be in this placement and sign (until this year, given the retrograde) because it allows us to have a neutral standpoint in analyzing matters and making decisions.

Mercury’s retrograde will be topsy-turvy because of Venus’s current planetary backspin. This can make matters of the heart, as well as financial investments, seem confusing to us. We might have to slow down our shopping and use our analytical mind to think about the future of relationships.

On its journey, Mercury affects almost every other planet. There could be declarations of love, arguments, shake-ups, breakups, communication issues, technological problems, travel issues (so plan accordingly), or even fated connections along the way.
