The sun and Mars share a conjunction in Libra today. Both of these heavenly bodies are debilitated, which means that they have issues regarding performing well. The sun in Libra focuses on partnerships instead of the self. Mars in Libra focuses on handling matters with tact, grace, and diplomacy.

In this case, the sun is powerless against Mars because Mars is stronger than the sun in Libra. When these two planets unite, they’re unable to assert their feelings or will, which can stir negative sentiments and rudeness brewing beneath a pleasant surface. Also, people might choose to stir the pot and thereby indirectly sabotage others. This means that any passive-aggressive actions intended to hurt outwardly friendly people will cause friction in relationships.

Mercury, still retrograde, adds to the mix even though it isn’t aspecting the sun or Mars today. Keep in mind that miscommunication and misinformation can cause issues throughout the day. If you doubt the veracity of what you’re hearing, be assertive and (kindly) ask for more information. No one will be annoyed because you aren’t certain about a situation or relationship. Venus arrives in Sagittarius this morning, bringing a new openness. However, revelations may lead to extraordinary and surprising vulnerabilities. In essence, if we are out on a limb on our own, today is the day that the limb may break. The need for balance, under this week’s Libra New Moon, brings a desire to fall back on tradition and established protocols. Idealism may be a refuge for those whose tangible results are shown to be lacking. Maintaining the proper balance requires self-discipline. Some are prone to over-optimism and an unrealistic desire for complete freedom to walk away from any obligations or responsibilities.
