That’s when Mercury retrograde in Libra squares off with Pluto retrograde in Capricorn for the second time this season. The first time these two planets shared this fraught aspect was on September 22, before Mercury’s retrograde commenced four days later. This is the second part of the drama that began at that time.

Be prepared to rehash old issues, most of which could be met with defensiveness and criticism. Taking the high road won’t be easy, but it will be necessary if you want to avoid arguments. If you choose to work on fixing a situation or communication, there can be positive changes ahead. Watch out for psychological manipulation by others or by you in order to get your way with the people you care about.

In the evening, Mercury shares a minor connection with Venus in Scorpio. This is the energy that we need in order to move away from the issues that started this morning and lasted throughout the day. We are looking for commitments today. Yesterday’s laid back atmosphere disappears and we begin to look for ways to assert ourselves. Our efforts are most likely to be scattered and wasteful and the lack of success may only exacerbate frustration with the lack of clear, decisive action. We’ll be in a better position if we stay detached and maintain our personal independence. This is not the time to try to convince anyone of anything and whatever imperatives we feel to force decisions are only likely to backfire. There is more support for those who are pointing out discrepancies than those who are trying to make things happen. If there is a good case to be made, we’ll do best to simply offer it confidently — but avoid the sand traps of promotion and persuasion.
