The Virgo new moon occurs today, making us think about the new direction we want to go in our life. With the opposition it faces from Neptune, which is retrograde in Pisces, we won’t be able to move in a realistic way toward obtaining our dreams. The future seems limitless, but it requires thought and care to attain our desires.

The sun’s minor aspects with Jupiter and Saturn aren’t giving us the space to break through the roadblocks that stand in our way. Mars’s powerful connection with Pluto and frustration with Jupiter can give us the strength to transform and evolve. Passions may get bigger and more exhilarating, which can help us set our intentions and manifest the “right” vision for ourselves now.

Jupiter also harmonizes with Venus and shares a minor aspect with Mercury. This is a very lovely aspect that can give you the confidence to assert your emotional and fundamental needs. Whatever your dreams, this is the time to discuss them with others even if it isn’t the moment to bring them to fruition. With the right amount of diligence and care, you’ll be able to bring your fantasies and desires to light. The key is to believe in yourself and your vision no matter what anyone else says. Your perseverance in making sure your dreams come true will prove all of the naysayers wrong.

Mercury will retrograde in Libra (September 27 – October 18) and today we reach the shadow phase of the next retrograde period. This is a day to lay down a marker. Since there is a Virgo New Moon (5:51 PM PDT 14° Virgo) this afternoon, it is likely that some kind of marker is also being laid down for us. Alliances couldn’t be more important in this atmosphere. It should certainly be noted that today’s New Moon is exactly trine to Uranus (retrograde) in Taurus. Sudden developments are quite likely and may seem to develop from some source in our past, our heritage, or through our ancestral links. Coming under the New Moon, we should expect to see a series of sudden or surprising events develop over the upcoming lunar cycle. However, we should not forget that we are entering a period, under the coming retrograde Mercury, where there is certain to be a need for review. And the unexpected events may not lead anywhere near where we think they are leading.
