Deer Moon Astrology 6/20/2021

Today is the Summer Solstice in the northern hemisphere.

The summer solstice is an energetically charged time of year when the sun moves into Cancer and the seasons shift. This is the longest day of the year when the northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun. When the sun moves into Cancer, we embrace a more intuitive and emotional month, one that differs greatly from Gemini season.

For the past month we’ve been focusing on intellectualizing and processing our feelings. Now we can access our emotions on a deeper level. The way we view matters could change every few days with the lunar cycle and the moon’s signs. The best way to handle this energy is to accept the changeable emotions within and not resist the urge to live in our hearts.

Nurturing yourself and others is essential—don’t lose sight of your own needs. Putting yourself first gives you the space to create the best personal vibe for you. Also, protecting your heart serves a purpose, ensuring that you don’t get hurt emotionally.

Jupiter begins its retrograde journey in Pisces today, which lasts until October 17. Finding your footing might be hard if you’re struggling to fully embrace a new philosophy and belief. If you keep your mind open, you can dive into the spirited energy.

The Moon is void-of-course this morning from 4:15 AM PDT until 11:22 AM PDT. This afternoon’s Moon-Mars conjunction in Leo serves as something like a mental springboard, propelling us through a process that will eventually provide extra confidence following a series of emotional challenges. Mercury is separating a bit from the foggy influence of Neptune as it retrogrades further back into Gemini. However, the Sun’s square to Neptune keeps the fog machine operating. We are beginning to try to clear out our emotional blind spots using logic and mental insights but it is still a slog. Ego sensitivity is very real today. Our curiosity to understand may lead us to some very uncomfortable discoveries. However, through the process, we will gain a great deal more confidence.

This is a card of two stories. In the Thoth Tarot, it talks of failure. In the Rider, it has been interpreted as bearing fruit through patience – being in something for the long haul and allowing things to unfold or manifest in their own time.

That is all well and good when the clock is not ticking. What do you do if it is? How much time can you allow something to develop or produce before you call time on it? You hear of tales of miners giving up & selling on only to hear the mine scores big & they’d only been inches away from success…. The question is, how could they have possibly known they were so close?

The question for you is, how do you decide if something is worth the wait or if you should also call time on the endeavour? There is no easy answer. The Rider says wait, the Thoth says don’t and the Lo Scarabeo tries to find the middle ground. And so should you, and while you do so, ask yourself some very honest questions about whether this thing or situation is worth the wait. It still may fail and if it does, at least you had your eyes wide open for the process and you can learn where things went wrong.
