The annual new moon in Taurus occurs today. During a new moon, the sun and moon link up in the same sign. As a result of this connection, we can’t see the moon’s luminous glow, which means we need to rely solely on our intuition. The moon is in a tight sextile with Neptune and wider trine to Pluto. There is imagination and inspiration that suggests nearly limitless possibilities. Mercury’s trine to Saturn and Mars’ sextile to Uranus stir our intellect and energy without pushing us too far into erratic or ungrounded aspiration and ambition. With Jupiter preparing to enter Pisces on Thursday, there is no doubt that we are on the precipice of a major change. We can feel that a change is imminent and the excitement is animating. However, although there may be a great deal of intellectual speculation about the scope and nature of the shift, there is little doubt that there will be some unexpected ramifications of the changes that are coming.

That may be true for most new moons, but today’s luminary is affected by the presence of Neptune and Pluto. Emotions could get intense because we can barely access our sentiments due to the dark moon. Today, you could have an abundance of feelings but be hesitant about expressing them. This luminary aligns with dreamy Neptune and evocative Pluto, putting into focus relationships, money, and self-care. You can find new and unique ways to nurture yourself and others during this time, as well as ways to take control of situations that you put on the back burner. It can be a period of soul searching while you decide what you want to create and add to your life.

As you know, a new moon is a time of new beginnings and fresh starts, which is why it’s important to take your time to make sure that you’re putting your energy into the right dream, investment, or relationship. There could be moments throughout the day in which you want to exert your authority over those you care about, but this is unadvised because it could cause unnecessary drama.
