Intellect and mental gymnastics may feel quite satisfying today. The Gemini Moon continues to encourage a search for new and exciting bits of information, while the forming Jupiter-Uranus square (perfecting by the middle of next month) begins to build our excitement. We will need to be very careful not to let this excitement build towards impulsiveness and impatience over the next few weeks. The Moon goes void-of-course this evening at 7:00 PM PST following a stirring sextile to Mars. We may need to guard against a bit of self-righteous self-satisfaction which will fall apart tomorrow.

THE WEEK AHEAD: We arrive in the NEW YEAR of 2021 this week and can begin to look toward building new structures to replace the crumbling structures of the past. There is a strong sense of independence and intellectual insight that keeps us focused on our clever plans and creative strategies. This Tuesday’s Cancer Full Moon (7:28 PM PST 8° Cancer Capricorn), squaring Chiron and sextiling Uranus brings our awareness of the shifts following the Winter Solstice to an exciting and stirring plateau. Creative imagination is full swing and many new plans seem to be ready to be rolled out and implemented. The Cancer Full Moon keeps our focus on our World Family and the presence of Chiron encourages us to think for ourselves and break out of any intellectual boxes’ that we find ourselves trapped inside of. However, the fly in the ointment this week is a steady steam of vulnerable emotions and unsteady feelings that just don’t mesh well with the heady intellectual environment. These emotions are certainly not unmanageable. In fact, emotions and feelings are an important element of the creative process. But our tendency to try to hide feelings and vulnerabilities can create serious stumbling blocks and land us in the New Year completely off balance. The exciting intellectual stirrings of the Full Moon has the potential to bring powerful new alliances that can support our independent vision and unique perspectives. The flashes of insight bring new ideas all week. However, we may find ourselves quite easily distracted by trying to make the right impression and wind up placing our trust in the wrong people. This is when denying and hiding our feelings becomes a serious stumbling block. The square of Venus, conjunct the South Node, to Neptune, demands humility but may easily bring forward unrealistic expectations and lingering disappointments. If we can maintain our humility — even when we keep having stunning flashes of intellectual brilliance — we will be able to maintain the necessary balance and ultimately adopt a practical, realistic approach. Humility and remaining teachable is how we can stay on track this week and gain the most from this incredibly potent and inspiring atmosphere.

Insight and intellect boost our cleverness on Sunday under the Sun’s trine to Uranus. We are stirred to break free of intellectual constraints. However, relationships and emotions don’t easily mesh into the atmosphere and may keep us off balance. Monday’s Gemini Moon encourages our clever ideas and exciting insights. There will be an increasing tendency to settle into self-righteous self-satisfaction but we don’t have enough facts to allow us to stay on our perch for long. The Cancer Full Moon on Tuesday encourages the acquisition of important and influential allies. However, we need to check our personal sense of self-worth for vulnerabilities that could lead us to trust the wrong people. Disappointments are possible on Wednesday. We need to stay humble in the ongoing learning process and guard against unrealistic expectations. Ego vulnerabilities on Thursday have us more focused on making the right impression instead of staying true to our vision. Maintaining balance on Friday (New Year’s Day) is critical. We need to honor our emotions and feelings rather than bury them for the sake of intellectual ideals and goals. Organization is our focus on Saturday. We may find important ways to let go of some unhelpful, emotional baggage. There is a danger of over-exertion and wasted effort — our reach may exceed our grasp.
