The Moon goes void-of-course after this morning’s New Moon (8:16 AM PST 23° Sagittarius) and won’t arrive in Capricorn until 7:34 PM PST. Temporary obstacles and stumbling blocks surface, despite an optimistic mood. The delays and slowdowns may create some suspicion. Today’s challenges with interpersonal relationships could have us looking for an escape route, only to find all roads closed. In essence, we are in the doorway to a new way of thinking and a new approach. The most successful in handling these new opportunities may elicit some jealousy. But today’s suggestions of difficulty in forging the new path should not be seen as permanent. Although the burden of responsibility is increasing, we will find new resources and capabilities that will encourage us to keep moving forward.
THE WEEK AHEAD: Monday’s Sagittarius New Moon (8:16 AM PST 23° Sagittarius) launches us towards next week’s intensely powerful Winter Solstice — the potent culmination to a year that began with Saturn-Pluto conjunction back in January. The entrances of Saturn and Jupiter into Aquarius this week, following the New Moon, sets the stage for next week’s powerhouse Winter Solstice and the expansive new Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on the Capricorn-Aquarius cusp. The structures that have broken down following the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn will begin to be rebuilt in the new 20-year Jupiter-Saturn cycle beginning on the cusp of Aquarius. The innovation of Aquarius provides space for a re-imagining of the old structures and frameworks that we have taken for granted for many, many years. New ideas, new perspectives, and new insights are emboldened. There is an incredible sense of responsibility that creates significant burdens that we feel all week. The intensity of the shift is guaranteed by the 3rd Mars-Pluto square that begins to form this week and will complete in concert with the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on the Solstice. The burdens and sense of responsibility can not be avoided but the entrance of Venus into buoyant Sagittarius on Tuesday does help to ease the weight of the responsibility we feel. This waxing lunar cycle seems to help us to increase our endurance to shoulder the burdens and challenges that we find. Chiron makes an auspicious direct station to form a healing trine to Venus by week’s end. Nonetheless, the forming Mars-Pluto square has already begun to ramp up the pressure and will not be ignored or sidestepped. The significance of the conflicts and difficulties that are represented tower over the new beginning that we are approaching. We can see the door to a new world and we have no choice but to walk through it — even though it may feel impossible at times to keep moving towards it and through it. The more that we have been able to expand our personal perspective and expand our sense of connection to others, the fewer challenges we will have in embracing the new awareness that is being offered.
An early morning Mercury-Neptune square gives a hazy start to the day on Sunday. However, determination is strong and we push forward under a forming trine of Mercury to Mars. Monday’s Sagittarius New Moon is followed by a void-of-course Moon that lasts for most of the day, suggesting that we will face temporary challenges and obstacles. Venus arrives in Sagittarius on Tuesday, easing the burdensome sense of responsibility that permeates this week’s atmosphere. Nonetheless, we are aware that there is little time for distraction. Saturn arrives in Aquarius on Wednesday as Mercury touches the point of the new lunar cycle. Communication is enhanced. We begin to intellectually recognize that we are moving through a doorway into new understanding, insight, and awareness. The effects of the waxing lunar cycle snowball on Thursday. Our endurance to deal with change helps us to shoulder our burdens more effectively. Venus makes a helpful, healing trine to Chiron on Friday. We are wise to take time to pause and reflect a bit. Mercury reaches the superior conjunction with the Sun on Saturday, opening up new avenues for intellectual pursuits. The weight of the shifts are becoming apparent and we should not push ourselves too hard or we risk threatening our overall health.
