Subtlety is desperately needed here but difficult to focus on under the ego-driven Leo Moon. The Mercury-Vesta connection — opposing Saturn — is an interesting sort of ‘wild card’ which may offer enough intellect, awareness, and decisiveness to stabilize an atmosphere where the use of blunt force is more likely than any sort of nuanced creativity. Even so, with enough awareness, there is some potential to actually bring inspired solutions to this extremely unpredictable environment.

THE WEEK AHEAD: The Aquarius/Leo Full Moon on Monday (8:58 AM PDT 11° Aquarius/Leo) is extremely intense due to a highly unpredictable square from Uranus. We are likely to see sudden and unexpected disruptions, possibly leading to breakdowns when our ego will not allow us to bend. There is a significant need for detachment, nuanced creativity, and an awareness of subtle implications. However, we may be more inclined to look for blunt force solutions, especially due to rising impatience and impulsiveness. Mars squares Jupiter this week and begins to approach the first of three powerful and important squares to Pluto, which will make the first pass next week. Even though the Moon’s light wanes after the Full Moon, the intensity and impulsiveness continue to build. Luckily there are several welcome opportunities to find the more nuanced and subtle elements that will help us to create stability and find meaning within this impulsive, stirred up, ego-driven atmosphere. Mercury arrives in Leo on Tuesday, which provides some reassuring intellectual support to the sensitive ego of the Leo Sun. Intellect provides some relief from our over-reliance on will power and Blunt Force solutions. As well, Venus leaves restless Gemini and eventually establishes a more comfortable repose in Cancer. Our ability to find better connections to others begins to improve by the end of the week. Nonetheless, we will continue to face the need to break free of outmoded, crystallized beliefs, and structures. The process is erratic, with stop-start unpredictable lurches, building intensity, and a variety of breakdowns. This week, what we are faced with are challenges to our egos, our pride, and our deep desire to express ourselves as unique individuals, while still honoring the need for discipline and responsibility.

We may feel as though we’re stuck in a vise on Sunday, dealing with some particularly thorny, karmic issues. We may feel the vise loosening through the day but the intensity builds ahead of Monday morning’s Full Moon. Sudden and challenging disruptions lead to breakdowns under Monday’s Aquarius/Leo Full Moon. Intellect, nuanced creativity, and detachment will help to diffuse the intensity. Impulsive urges and self-righteousness may be encouraged by the Mars-Jupiter square on Tuesday. Our ability to establish honest, open interactions is challenged by a Venus-Saturn quincunx. Wednesday’s Pisces Moon conjuncts Ceres, instilling a note of nurturing compassion that is especially helpful in an atmosphere where egos are particularly vulnerable. Idealism and a lack of focus make getting grounded quite difficult on Thursday. Passions are rising. Venus arrives in Cancer on Friday, which will eventually soften some of the restless impatience. However, Friday’s devil-may-care attitude and some reckless self-centeredness may create some discomfort. By Saturday, a sense of rhythm and timing allow things to settle down enough for us to catch our breath before the next round of intensity next week when Mars will make the first of three squares to Pluto.
