Diplomacy is imbued with a sense of conservative protection today. The term conservatism may certainly have come to signify the negative overtones of totalitarianism — arbitrary power and control. Nonetheless, to conserve, we must establish priorities for the orderly and effective use of our resources in order to endure periods of contraction and shortage. It is only fear that turns this principle into something negative that is focused on power, control, and manipulation. The manipulation of fear is how totalitarianism is maintained, by taking advantage of insecurity. The importance of the Capricorn principle of conservation is how we find some sense of safety in an unpredictable world. Today offers some hope that we can unlock the principle of conservation from the demands of fear and control and begin to establish new lines of communication, broadening consensus, and reasoned cooperation — restoring some sense of order.

This morning, the Virgo Moon trines Mercury in Capricorn and goes void-of-course until it enters Libra and sextiles Mars. Also, Venus in Pisces sextiles Uranus (the awakener) in Taurus.

As the moon approaches Mars, the energy is light and passionate, presenting us with choices. It will call for honesty with ourselves first and foremost, then it will be easier to find harmony with others and make choices that work for everyone we care about.
