Mercury makes a remarkably inspiring trine to Uranus today. The Pisces Moon adds some especially insightful intuitive clues. There is a welcome opportunity to access inner resources in exciting, productive ways. The overriding challenge here is our inclination to seek recognition for our insights and achievements. Our salvation is found through compassion and nurturing, rather than assaulting our environment with demands for recognition and approval. This is an especially tricky emotional environment where it may not be easy to fully and clearly express ourselves, despite how well we may seem to understand the ideas inside of our own mind. We will do much better by expressing ourselves very slowly and deliberately, without too much need for approval or appreciation.

THE WEEK AHEAD: We cross the threshold into a new decade this week! We transition from a 12 year (2019) to a 4 year (2020). We leave behind the confusing complications of 2019 (the 12 influence) and begin to deal with new restrictions and a clear need for new foundations in the new year of 2020 (the 4 influence). The need to look at our foundations is apparent this week in an increased demand to find some sense of security and safety. The transiting South Node in Capricorn is heavily accentuated this week by conjunctions with the Sun and Mercury, while foreshadowing next week’s Jupiter-South Node conjunction. The weakness of the Capricorn South Node is seen in a blind need for recognition, approval, achievement, and yes, security, which willfully ignores the needs of others and our own need for connection and closeness. The solution is found through compassion and nurturing. However, the heavy demands in this week’s atmosphere and a strong desire to find some sense of security may draw us away from compassion and produce an inclination to grasp for what we believe we need in order to be more safe and secure. In truth, we may actually wind up being much too hard on ourselves this week, believing that failure on any level is totally unacceptable, instead of understanding that the lessons of failure may be far more valuable than achievement, recognition and acclaim. Some of these challenges center on being too rigid and demanding of ourselves, walling ourselves off from our feelings, which seem unsteady and unsafe. Part of this week’s journey involves finding ways to more effectively express ourselves, as well as our feelings. Mars arrives in expansive Sagittarius this week, encouraging us to speak our minds more honestly and openly.
