Moon is new in Virgo first thing this morning (637 AM EDT/537 AM CDT/437 AM MDT/337 AM PDT) and joins Mars, the planet of strength, courage, and sexuality. We are encouraged to get in touch with our most passionate desires and share them. A new moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of another new 28-day cycle that leads up to the Harvest Full Moon in Pisces on September 14th.

There’s a lot of effort needed to get things moving forward, but it’s an auspicious time to do so. We recognize and acknowledge our place in a much larger effort, allowing us to settle down and get to work.

The New Moon’s trine to retrograde Uranus helps us recognize and understand belief structures that have become hurdles to our progress. With all this energy, we see our relationships begin to shift and flow. These changes have been coming for some time now, and we finally get to feel things shift and move forward. Some signs interpret this newly gained freedom as overload while others embrace them with exceptional enthusiasm.

Sun conjunct Moon gives an invigorating burst of energy and initiative. So this is an excellent time for making a fresh start, turning over a new leaf, or starting a new project. You can also question old habits, behaviors, and beliefs as you search for new and inventive ways to make progress.
